The new Marvel movie, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” debuted November 11, 2022 and immediately hit a record for an opening weekend in November. The movie’s earnings of $330 million surpassed “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” Fans were not disappointed with the film, and claim that it was a great tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman.
Boseman, who played the original Black Panther, passed away at the age of 43 from cancer. The movie was a tribute to him, and took the time to represent Boseman in many ways. The movie even included multiple scenes mourning the loss of the on-screen Wakanda King, which touched the hearts of fans around the world.
Not only did the movie struggle through the death of its star, but also its production in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and the injury of Letita Wright. Letita Wright was injured by a motorcycle prop while filming and was sent to the hospital for multiple injuries, such as a fractured shoulder and concussion. This was dangerous since Wright was one of the few main characters left after the death of Boseman, but luckily she made a full recovery and was able to finish filming the movie.
