The Great Mexican Food Debate

Moe’s, Chipotle, Cabo.  The big 3.  Hours can be spent debating which is the best and why.   Let’s start off with the baby of the three, Cabo.  Cabo first made its appearance on Long Island in Stony Brook.  Cabo is known for having fresh ingredients to go with their burritos, bowls, quesadillas, salads; oh and yes, chips cost extra.  Cabo can attribute part of its success to its close proximity to the local movie theater, AMC Loews, thus providing them with a lot of foot traffic.

Next on the list is the infamous Chipotle Grill.  Chipotle used to be the highest standard of Mexican fast food, that is until the E-coli epidemic struck in 2016.  This absolutely shattered their massive fan base and handicapped the organization.  Chipotle recently came out with their own queso to compete with Moe’s (who we will discuss later) which fell short.  Chipotle, like Cabo, does charge its customers extra for chips (yes, I know it’s very annoying).  However Chipotle does have a great fresh menu that offers all different types of meats and condiments for their burritos, bowels, tacos, and salads.

Last but certainty not least we have Moe’s Southwest Grill. Before I get started let it be known, I am completely biased, Moe’s is my favorite place on earth.  They offer a large variety of items on their menu including burritos, quesadillas, bowels, salads, tacos, and stacks.  What’s a stack you might ask? Well it’s the single greatest food invention this side of the universe.  A stack is a tortilla with a flat circular taco shell inside, then stacked with everything you love ( rice, meat, cheese, peppers, onions, cheese, queso, etc.) and then another taco shell on top.  Then it is wrapped up and thrown on the grill until the cheese inside is melted.  With this order (and any order) you will receive free chips, yes, FREE chips and have as many refills as your heart desires.  Along with you unlimited chips you might want to get a side of queso for 99 cents because one can never have enough.  Overall Moe’s is a fantastic establishment that, in my opinion, are light years ahead of the other Mexican fast food places in the area.

*Honorable mention- Taco Bell, taste amazing when eating, makes you feel terrible 2 hours later
